Resources & Energy Evolutions aims to build a portfolio of utility scale solar power plants and solar-powered carbon emissions reduction facilities.
Some plants will be connected to major power transmission and distribution networks, supplying electrical power for general use. Others will provide power to directly reduce or nearly eliminate the carbon emissions from existing industrial plants, power stations and off-grid communities where energy supply relies on burning fossil fuels.
The scale of energy generation involved ranges from large scale industrial and grid connected power in the hundreds of MW to fossil fuel replacement opportunities in mining applications of around 20 MW (50 GWh pa) capacity.
At present, although the cost of Solar PV has dramatically reduced over recent years, battery storage is still expensive. As a result REE’s early projects will likely include only the battery storage capacity needed for power output smoothing. Power output and energy storage capacity will be scaled to generate significant clean energy and carbon emissions reduction outcomes at a price acceptable to customers and competitive with green power tariffs. As energy storage costs reduce, energy output capacity in early projects can be expanded to supply additional energy at reduced cost.
Participate as an investor
In order to complete its first plant REE needs investors willing to provide funding for project development and equity for plant construction. Investments can be made in specific projects once each reaches construction ready status and in funding the project development necessary to establish REE’s initial project and an ongoing pipeline of future projects. Potential customers interested in contracting for solar power or carbon emissions reduction applications may wish to also invest directly in specific projects to help ensure they are successfully financed and built.
